45 Minute Consultation

with Lisa Pressman and Sue Stover

Lisa Pressman

Lisa’s teaching style is process-oriented. Get ready to get messy as you have fun exploring her intuitive and improvisational approach. Combining and flowing between various mediums, she layers and excavates the rich surfaces of her pieces revealing the history of ideas, images, and mediums contained within. You will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the various mediums in her classes as you explore each one’s potential while developing your own visual language. Lisa nurtures you as an artist, honoring your artistic vision while also giving you detailed formal assessments of your work that are critical to your growth as an artist. Lisa is a Silver Brush Educator and R&F Core Instructor.

"Lisa creates an environment that replicates being with her in person. That is - a place to gather to not only learn amazing techniques but a place where we all feel connected in a time where there is such disconnect. Her teaching style exudes not only passion for her own work but a deep desire to share her vast knowledge with her students. In essence she has the uncanny ability to create contagious effervescence in every class regardless of the setting. I have taken many classes with Lisa and always come away with excited to continue my work and looking forward to her next class. If you want to feel connected to other like minded artist along with an exceptional teacher, I highly recommend studying with Lisa Pressman. - Paula"

Susan Stover

Excavating the ideas that inform your work is an important element of Susan’s teaching. She helps you focus on the “why” of your work while you master technical skills. Take advantage of her extensive background in a variety of media including textiles, painting and sculpture. Susan’s insightful suggestions will help you open up new ways of seeing things. She is interested in connecting histories, personal and cultural, to each student's intentions and concepts. As a teacher, she delights in these moments of awakening in her students. She is eager to help you discover and use the best materials to express your ideas. You will marvel at how easily Susan moves between mediums integrating 2D and 3D elements in her work and you will find inspiration in how you can also incorporate that agility into your own practice. Susan Stover is a R&F Paints Core Instructor and a Silver Brush Educator.

Social proof: testimonials

by Kathy E.

During the pandemic, I had the opportunity to study with Lisa and Sue Stover together, bringing together two master teachers who shared more knowledge and technique than I thought possible to fit into each session.  I was challenged and encouraged, introduced to new ways of working, but more than that, I was introduced to new ways of thinking.  Each class left me with an extensive list of ways to experiment on my own in a mindful manner, letting go of methods that no longer felt right and anxious to explore new ideas Lisa and Sue shared.

I found your class and sharing each other’s work and processes to be just what I needed- a kickstart back into my studio!  The assignments were stimulating and got me experimenting, playing and having fun again. Thank you 🙏🏻
